This guitar is the first instrument built to my new shape and is designated the Model 1. It is the perfect shape: combining elegant “jumbo” style curves with an “OM” size body.
The 635mm (25”) scale length makes this a very easy guitar to play. However, if you are a player who uses alternative tunings, this guitar can also be built with a 650mm scale length. This gives more tension in the strings thus accommodating being tuned down.
As with all of my guitars, it is built to the highest standard from fine tonewoods. The guitar is constructed with a Claro Walnut body, Western Red Cedar top, Mahogany neck with maple and walnut laminations, Ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Fine burr Claro walunt is used for the head overlay and rosette. The guitar is bound in maple with walnut veneer used to accentuate the purflings.
