PARLOUR GUITAR

My steel-strung parlour guitar is inspired by 19th century European designs. I feel that most “modern” parlour guitars are too large and contradict the rationale behind their existence.

Although this small bodied guitar is designed to be enjoyed within the confines of the home, she has a surprisingly big voice and wants to sing out loud! Click here to her being demonstrated by Phil Hare.

In designing this guitar my aim was to create an instrument that would not look out of place alongside the work of past masters such as Panormo and Lacote. You can also see a series of YouTube videos on the design and construction of this beautiful little instrument.

This cedar and walnut instrument is the first of a number of parlour guitars that I anticipate building. This guitar can also be built for nylon strings.

If you'd like any further information about commissioning your own instrument, please give me a call on +44 (0)1945 587236 or e-mail info@navaguitars.co.uk.
