THE STANDARD MANDOLIN

In these times of austerity, not every musician can afford to own a bespoke, handmade instrument. In a bid to build a mandolin that is more affordable, I have developed my “Standard” Mandolin. Time is the most expensive component of any handmade instrument- in building these standard mandolins, I concentrate on the features that influence the sound and playability and strip back any unnecessary adornments. The result is a beautifully sounding, playable handmade mandolin at a reasonable cost to the player. These mandolins are made from a variety of quality tonewoods, hence each instrument is unique.
